The ComboTutors Method™
Every student gets a personalised learning plan built around their specific exam board, weak areas, and target grade. No generic worksheets — just focused, strategic tutoring that addresses exactly what your child needs to improve.
Progress You Can Actually See
After every session you'll receive a clear summary of what was covered and what to work on next. We track scores over time so you're never left guessing whether tutoring is making a difference — you'll see it in the numbers.
Grade Improvement Guarantee
We're confident in our tutors. If your child doesn't improve by at least one grade after a full term of regular sessions, we'll provide three additional sessions completely free. That's how much we back the quality of our teaching.
Exam Board Specialists
Our tutors don't just know the subject — they know the mark schemes. Many are former or current examiners for AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Cambridge. They teach your child what the examiner is looking for, not just the textbook answer.
Flexible Scheduling
Sessions happen online, so there's no commute. Book weekly slots that fit around your child's school timetable, or schedule extra sessions before exams. Need to reschedule? No problem — just give us 24 hours' notice.
Only the Top 15%
We accept only 15% of tutor applicants. Every tutor holds a degree from a leading UK university, is DBS-checked, and has proven experience with A-Level students. You're not getting a random tutor — you're getting a specialist.

What Parents & Students Say
“My son was predicted a C in A-Level Chemistry and we were genuinely worried about his university applications. His ComboTutors tutor spotted the gaps in his organic chemistry knowledge within the first session and built a targeted revision plan around them. He ended up with a B — one whole grade above his prediction. Worth every penny.”
Rachel D.
Parent of A-Level Student“I started tutoring for A-Level Physics about three months before my exams. My tutor was incredibly patient and broke down complex topics like electromagnetic induction into simple, intuitive steps. I ended up getting an A* which I genuinely didn't think was possible. I'd recommend ComboTutors to anyone who wants a tutor that actually cares about your progress.”
James T.
A-Level Physics Student“We tried two other tutoring services before finding ComboTutors, and the difference was night and day. Our daughter's A-Level Maths tutor didn't just teach the content — she taught her how to approach exam questions strategically. Her mock scores went from 58% to 82% in about six weeks. We finally felt like someone understood what she needed.”

Parents of Year 13 StudentA-Level Tutoring That's Built Around Your Child
A-Levels are the most important exams your child will sit before university — and for many students, they're also the hardest. The jump from GCSE to A-Level catches a lot of bright students off guard.
Research from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) shows that high-dosage tutoring is up to 20 times more effective than standard classroom interventions. Our students consistently beat the averages.

Common
Questions.
The earlier the better, but it's never too late. Starting in Year 12 autumn gives the best return — your child builds strong foundations before the content becomes overwhelming. That said, we regularly help Year 13 students who come to us after disappointing mock results, and even a few months of focused work can shift a grade. If you're unsure, book a free consultation and we'll give you an honest assessment.
We take into account your child's exam board, subjects, learning style, and specific goals. Every tutor in our network specialises in particular exam boards — so if your child is studying Edexcel Physics, they'll get a tutor who knows Edexcel Physics inside out, not a generalist. We also factor in personality fit, because the best tutoring happens when students feel comfortable asking questions.
Absolutely. This is one of the things that sets us apart. Our tutors don't just know the subject — they know the mark schemes, the question styles, and the common traps students fall into with each specific board. Several of our tutors are former or current examiners themselves, so they can teach your child exactly what the examiner is looking for in every answer.
It depends on where they are and where they need to be. For general support and staying on track, one hour per week per subject is usually enough. If they're trying to close a significant gap or preparing intensively for exams, we'd recommend 1.5 to 2 hours per week. We'll discuss this during your free consultation and adjust as we go — there's no rigid commitment.
Yes, all our sessions are conducted online via video call with a shared digital whiteboard. This gives students the flexibility to learn from home without commuting, and parents the ability to sit in if they wish. Research consistently shows that online tutoring is just as effective as face-to-face, and many students actually prefer it because they're more relaxed in their own environment.
After every session, you'll receive a short summary of what was covered and what your child should focus on before the next session. We also conduct regular assessments — typically aligned with school test schedules — so you can see measurable improvement over time. If you ever want a more detailed update, your child's tutor is always happy to chat.
