Frequently Asked Questions.
Our online tutoring sessions take place over a secure, interactive video platform with a shared whiteboard, screen sharing, and file upload capabilities. Your tutor will prepare a personalised lesson plan before each session, and you can ask questions, work through problems together in real time, and review recorded sessions afterwards. All you need is a computer or tablet with a stable internet connection.
We offer tutoring across a wide range of international and national curricula including the International Baccalaureate (IB), A-Levels, IGCSE, and GCSE. We also provide specialist support for standardised test preparation including the SAT, ACT, and AP exams. Whether your child is following a UK, US, or international curriculum, we have experienced tutors who know the syllabus inside out.
Our rates vary by subject, level, and tutor experience, with most lessons ranging from £18 to £35 per hour. We offer flexible options including pay-as-you-go sessions and discounted multi-lesson bundles, so families can choose a plan that fits both goals and budget.
Every ComboTutors tutor goes through a rigorous selection process. We verify academic qualifications, check relevant teaching or tutoring experience, conduct a live teaching demonstration, and run an enhanced DBS (or international equivalent) background check. Only around 15% of applicants are accepted, ensuring your child learns from the very best.
