Why Omani families choose us
UK-qualified, examiner-led, available everywhere.
UK-qualified teachers and IB examiners
Every tutor holds QTS, PGCE or equivalent alongside a verified degree from Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL or another top university. Several hold active IB and Cambridge examiner roles.

Parent testimonials
In the words of Omani parents.
Dr Khalid Al-Balushi, parent
ABA Oman International · Son at University of Birmingham Medicine
“My son was preparing for UK medicine and needed IB Biology HL support we could not find in Muscat. ComboTutors matched us with a tutor who had supervised UCAS medicine applicants for years. He is now at University of Birmingham.”
Mrs Aisha Al-Shanfari, parent
Salalah · IGCSE Chemistry A*
“We are in Salalah. Before online tutoring, there was simply no access to Cambridge-examiner level teachers for IGCSE here. My daughter improved from a C to an A* in Chemistry without leaving home.”
Mr Faisal Al-Habsi, parent
KGIS Muscat · Daughter studying IB Diploma
“We specifically needed a female tutor for our daughter. ComboTutors arranged this without any fuss — an Oxford graduate with IB examiner experience, exactly what we were hoping for.”

Oman questions
Everything families need to know.
Yes. Several of our tutors hold active IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE examiner roles. Examiner status is verified before any match and displayed clearly on tutor profiles.
We support students at ABA Oman International, British School Muscat, TAISM, Knowledge Gate International School, Cheltenham College Muscat, The Sultan's School, Al Sahwa School, NWIS, Ellesmere Muscat and other British and IB-curriculum schools across Muscat, Salalah and the wider Sultanate.
Yes. All sessions are online. Students in Salalah, Sohar, Nizwa, Sur, Seeb, Khasab and any other location in Oman access the same tutors as students in Muscat — with no additional charge for location.
Yes. We maintain a dedicated pool of female UK-qualified tutors across all IB, IGCSE and A-Level subjects. Mention this preference when contacting us and we will prioritise your match accordingly.
Yes. Since December 2024, WhatsApp voice and video calls work without a VPN in Oman. Sessions can run over WhatsApp Video, Zoom or Google Meet — whichever your family prefers.
Yes. Our tutors guide structure, rubric alignment, mark-scheme thinking and feedback for IA, EE and TOK. All support is advisory — we do not write coursework for students, in line with IBO academic honesty policy.
Yes. We offer UCAS personal statement coaching, Oxbridge application preparation and BMAT/UCAT support for students applying to UK medicine and other competitive programmes. We are also familiar with Oman Government scholarship timelines.
The academic year starts in August–September — the best window to set foundations for IB Year 1 and IGCSE Year 10. Oxbridge applications close mid-October and most UCAS courses by mid-January. IB Diploma exams run through May and Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE sit the May/June series, so March–April is the pre-exam intensive period. We recommend starting at least one term before the relevant window.
Yes. Sessions can be scheduled during Ramadan, adjusted to evening times after Iftar if preferred. We are fully aware of the Omani academic and religious calendar and accommodate scheduling changes without penalty.
