We cover every major specification. Your tutor matches your board, tier, and mark-scheme language so every lesson points toward exam performance.
The leading separate GCSE Biology specification. Two papers, both Higher and Foundation tier. Includes required practicals assessed through written questions.
Two written papers with a strong focus on application of knowledge. Required practicals assessed in paper questions. Foundation and Higher tier.
OCR's integrated Biology GCSE. Two papers with interdisciplinary links. Distinctive question style with scenario-based problems.

Our tutors build understanding from the molecular level upward — ensuring students can answer both factual recall and the demanding analysis questions.
Step 1
We start with recent marks, confidence blockers, and the exact exam board so sessions feel personal from lesson one.
Step 2
Tutors connect concepts to examiner language, worked examples, and the habits that turn knowledge into marks.
Step 3
Parents see what changed after each session: topics covered, next steps, and the grade trajectory we are building toward.
Animal and plant cell structure, prokaryotic cells, microscopy, cell division (mitosis and meiosis), stem cells, and diffusion, osmosis, and active transport.
Tissues and organs, the digestive system, enzymes, the heart and circulatory system, blood components, and non-communicable disease.
Pathogens and disease, the immune system, vaccination, antibiotics and their limitations — highly relevant exam content post-pandemic.
Photosynthesis (equation, limiting factors, practical investigation), aerobic and anaerobic respiration, and the role of ATP.
The nervous system, reflex arcs, the endocrine system, hormones, diabetes (Type 1 and 2), and the menstrual cycle.
DNA structure, protein synthesis, Mendelian genetics, Punnett squares, genetic disorders, natural selection, and classification.
Ecosystems, food chains and webs, the carbon and water cycles, human impacts (deforestation, climate change), and biodiversity conservation.

We teach a planning-before-writing method for all 6-mark questions: list the 6+ points needed, then write clearly in sequence using correct terminology. Students who plan consistently score significantly better.
Biology papers include a high proportion of data analysis questions. We practise reading axes, calculating rates of change, identifying anomalies, and drawing evidence-based conclusions from unfamiliar data sets.
Punnett squares, probability calculations, and pedigree analysis must be set up in a consistent format. We teach the standard method for all cross types and work through Higher-only content including sex-linked and codominant inheritance.
Specialist tutors with board knowledge, strong academic backgrounds, and proven grade-improvement records.

Academic Excellence
Families usually want three things: a tutor their child respects, a plan that fits the real paper, and updates that make progress easy to follow.
We shortlist tutors who know the curriculum, teach clearly, and can coach the exact exam habits that lift marks.
Top-university academics and exam-savvy specialists.
Parents see what was covered, what improved, and what needs attention next, so progress never feels vague.
Structured feedback after every lesson block.
Sessions are matched to the student's board, tier, topic gaps, and exam timeline instead of generic subject tutoring.
Board-specific support with a measurable target grade path.
Separate GCSE Biology covers more content than the biology component of Combined Science. It includes additional Higher-only topics in genetics, ecology, and human biology. Students who achieve a strong grade at separate Biology are well prepared for A-Level.
Required practicals are a defined set of experiments your school must conduct. Questions based on these practicals appear in the written exams. We cover the methodology, variables, results analysis, and evaluation for all AQA, Edexcel, and OCR Biology required practicals.
Genetics is tested across multiple question formats: Punnett square crosses, pedigree chart interpretation, probability calculations, and explanation of genetic disorders (cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anaemia, Huntington's disease). Higher tier adds sex-linked inheritance and codominance.
Yes. Foundation tier covers the core Biology content and gives access to grades 1–5. Higher tier covers the full specification including additional content for grades 4–9. We help students on both tiers, and can advise on whether a tier switch is appropriate.
