Oral exam and pronunciation coach
Tell us about your child and we'll match a specialist IGCSE French tutor within 24 hours.
Degree-level subject specialists, many PGCE-trained, who teach to the UK exam standard.
Tutors who know the mark schemes and coach the exact phrasing that earns every mark.
Every tutor is interviewed, reference-checked, and background-verified before their first lesson.
You are paired with a specialist in your exact board and tier — never a generalist.
Our tutors build fluency and exam technique together — so students not only understand French grammar, but can speak spontaneously and write with the range of tenses and vocabulary that examiners reward.
Step 1
We start with recent marks, confidence blockers, and the exact exam board so sessions feel personal from lesson one.
Step 2
Tutors connect concepts to examiner language, worked examples, and the habits that turn knowledge into marks.
Step 3
Parents see what changed after each session: topics covered, next steps, and the grade trajectory we are building toward.
Family, relationships, daily routine, home and local area, and describing yourself — the foundation vocabulary tested across every paper and the speaking role-play.
School life, subjects and opinions, further education, career choices, and ambitions — a rich source of writing prompts and conversation topics.
Hobbies, sport, media, holidays, and social activities. Students learn to give and justify opinions using varied connectives and comparatives.
Holidays, transport, directions, weather, and life in French-speaking countries — including cultural awareness of the Francophone world.
Environmental problems, healthy living, and social issues. Higher-tier content that rewards the conditional, subjunctive, and abstract vocabulary.
The present, perfect, imperfect, future, and conditional, plus reflexive verbs, negatives, and pronouns — the accuracy that separates Grade 6 from Grade 9.
Role-plays, photo cards, and general conversation. We rehearse pronunciation, fluency, and unprepared responses so students stay calm under exam conditions.
Short messages, structured responses, and extended writing. Students master paragraph structure, opinion phrases, and using a range of tenses to hit top mark bands.

We run mock speaking assessments every few weeks — role-plays, photo cards, and conversation — with instant feedback on fluency and pronunciation. Students build a bank of ready phrases so they never stall on an unexpected question.
Grammar is taught in context, not from tables. We drill the perfect, imperfect, future, and conditional through real exam-style sentences, so students use three or more tenses accurately in every extended answer.
We train the ear with authentic-speed audio, teaching students to predict content, catch key words, and not panic when they miss a phrase. Answer-anticipation technique means fewer careless comprehension errors.

Cambridge IGCSE French (0520) uses four separate papers covering listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Edexcel International GCSE French (4FR1) has two written papers — Listening and Understanding, and Reading and Writing — with speaking assessed as an optional endorsement. We tutor both and tailor technique to whichever board your school follows.
For Cambridge 0520 the speaking test includes role-plays, a topic (photo card) discussion, and general conversation, marked for communication, pronunciation, and language range. We run regular mock orals with recorded feedback so students build fluency and confidence before the real assessment.
Yes, this is one of our most common requests. We teach the present, perfect, imperfect, future, and conditional in context through exam-style sentences rather than rote tables, so students learn to use several tenses accurately — the key to reaching the top writing mark bands.
Absolutely. We practise with authentic-speed audio and teach answer-anticipation technique — predicting likely content, catching key words, and staying composed when a phrase is missed. Students learn to secure the marks they can hear rather than panicking over the ones they can't.
Yes. The grammar foundation, essay structure, and Francophone cultural awareness built at IGCSE map directly onto A-Level French. Students who reach Grade 7 or above are well prepared to progress to A-Level French or the IB Diploma language courses.
