Isa Town is the centre of gravity for IB in Bahrain. Ibn Khuldoon National School (IKNS) was the Kingdom's first IB Diploma school in the late 1980s and still produces the country's strongest IB cohort — HL grades that feed Imperial, UCL, McGill and the American University of Beirut. Bahrain Bayan School runs IB MYP and is an IB DP candidate school, transitioning its bilingual Arabic-English programme into full Diploma authorisation. IB Computer Science — HL especially — turns on IA structure, paper technique and EE supervision, not raw content. Our Isa Town IB DP Computer Science tutors are examiners who know the IKNS HL pace and the Bayan MYP-to-DP transition. Sessions back-plan from the May exam series and IKNS IA/EE deadlines (typically September of Year 13), all in Bahrain time around Ramadan and Eid.
Exam boards we cover
HL Computer Science is the standard route for Ibn Khuldoon National School (IKNS) — Bahrain's first IB school — and Bahrain Bayan School (IB DP candidate) students targeting top medicine, engineering or quantitative university courses. Heavier content and a more demanding internal assessment.
SL Computer Science suits Isa Town Diploma students keeping a balanced six-subject load. Same internal assessment framework, lighter syllabus depth.
Syllabus coverage
Our IB Computer Science tutors cover the full specification with extra depth on the topics where Isa Town students most consistently lose marks.
Planning, system design and human-computer interaction.
CPU, memory, binary, hex and logic gates.
Network types, protocols, OSI model and security.
Algorithms, abstraction and Java programming.
Lists, stacks, queues, trees and recursion.
Annual IB CS HL case study — deep technical analysis.
Real-world client project, documentation and product.
IB Paper 1, 2 and case-study mark-scheme drilling.

What we fix
How we fix it:Ibn Khuldoon National School (IKNS), Bahrain's first IB school, sets internal IA and EE deadlines from September of Year 13. We back-plan Computer Science IA drafts and EE supervision sessions so IKNS HL students hit each internal milestone before the November IB deadline.
How we fix it:Bayan School runs IB MYP and is an IB DP candidate school in transition. We brief tutors on the bilingual Arabic-English MYP framework and the MYP-to-DP step-up so Year 10-11 Bayan students arrive at DP with secure Computer Science foundations.
How we fix it:Many Isa Town families target UoB or Bahrain Polytechnic locally rather than UK/US universities. We calibrate Computer Science grades to UoB College of Engineering / College of Science cut-offs and Bahrain Polytechnic applied-skills entry standards.
How we fix it:BQA-regulated Bahraini schools shorten timetables by roughly three hours during Ramadan, then pause for Eid. We rebuild Computer Science session cadence around the shortened day and protect mock prep on either side of the holiday.
Why Combo Tutors
Ibn Khuldoon National School (IKNS) has produced Bahrain's strongest IB cohort since the late 1980s. Our Isa Town Computer Science tutors are IB examiners matched to IKNS HL pace, IA exemplars and EE supervision — the same standard the IKNS DP team expects internally.
Isa Town is a university town. Our tutors know the University of Bahrain (Sakhir-Isa Town campus) and Bahrain Polytechnic Computer Science-relevant entry requirements, and back-calibrate predicted grades for the local-versus-UCAS dual-pathway most Isa Town families plan.
Lessons run in Bahrain time (AST, GMT+3) around the BQA-aligned school calendar, Ramadan, Eid and Bahrain National Day (16 December). We flex around UoB-faculty parents' teaching schedules so Computer Science sessions land when the Isa Town student is fresh, not exhausted.

My daughter is in IKNS Year 13 HL Computer Science. Her IA draft was going nowhere until Combo Tutors paired her with an IB examiner. She hit her IKNS internal deadline three weeks early and her predicted lifted to a 7.

Both my children attend Bayan School — one in MYP, one transitioning to DP. Combo Tutors gave us one tutor who understood the bilingual MYP framework and the DP candidate-school transition for Computer Science. The continuity has been invaluable.

As a UoB academic I needed a tutor who understood both UoB College of Science admissions and UK UCAS routes for Computer Science. Combo Tutors calibrated my son's A-Level predictions for both pathways. He took UoB Engineering with a Russell Group offer in reserve.

My daughter was struggling with IB Mathematics HL and had almost given up hope of getting a 7. After just two months of weekly sessions with her Combo Tutors tutor, her confidence soared and she went from a predicted 4 to a final grade of 6. The personalised approach made all the difference—her tutor identified exactly where the gaps were and worked through them systematically.

My son started tutoring for A-Level Physics about three months before his exams. His tutor was incredibly patient and broke down complex topics like electromagnetic induction into simple, intuitive steps. He ended up getting an A* which we genuinely didn't think was possible. I'd recommend Combo Tutors to any parent who wants a tutor that actually cares about your child's progress.

We needed help with GCSE Science for my son who found chemistry particularly challenging. His tutor made the sessions engaging and relatable—using real-world examples that finally made reactions and bonding click for him. He improved by two grades and, more importantly, actually enjoys science now.
IB Computer Science in Isa Town
IKNS — Bahrain's first IB school (1983) — runs Cambridge IGCSE in Years 10-11 as a pre-DP feeder and IB Diploma HL/SL for Computer Science in Years 12-13. Our Isa Town tutors match the exact IKNS specification: Cambridge IGCSE paper codes for the lower school and IB DP HL or SL for the Diploma cohort, with IA structure and EE supervision aligned to IKNS internal deadlines.
Yes. Bayan School runs IB MYP and is an IB DP candidate school with a bilingual Arabic-English programme. Our tutors brief on the MYP framework (criteria A-D), the MYP personal project and the MYP-to-DP step-up for Computer Science so Bayan students arrive at Diploma with secure foundations.
Isa Town sits next to the UoB Sakhir-Isa Town campus. Our tutors calibrate IB Computer Science predicted grades against UoB College of Engineering, College of Science and College of Business Administration entry cut-offs, and prepare students for the UoB placement testing where applicable. Many Isa Town families plan a dual pathway — UoB locally plus UCAS to UK Russell Group — and we calibrate grades for both.
Yes — IKNS sets internal IB IA and Extended Essay deadlines from September of Year 13. Our IB examiner tutors run structured IA-draft cycles and EE supervision blocks for Computer Science so IKNS HL students hit each IKNS internal milestone before the November IB deadline, with weekly Bahrain-time sessions.
Bahrain Polytechnic prioritises applied-skills entry — its Engineering Technology, ICT and Business Faculties favour problem-solving competence over raw grades. UoB is more grade-driven against IB Computer Science cut-offs. We brief Isa Town students on which pathway suits their profile and tailor Computer Science preparation accordingly.
IB Computer Science tutoring in Isa Town starts from BHD 20/hour, billed in Bahraini Dinar. The first trial lesson is free and there is no minimum-term contract — UoB-faculty and Polytechnic-staff parents commonly start with weekly sessions and scale up before mocks and the May IB exam window.
