Riffa's A-Level cohort sits alongside RVIS's flagship IB Diploma stream and a strong Cambridge International A-Level pool at St Christopher's Saar campus and the British School of Bahrain at Hamala — both fully commutable for Riffa Views and East Riffa families who choose Cambridge over IB. Beverly Hills School Riffa adds a smaller Cambridge AS/A2 pool. The catchment is distinctive: British executive expats inside the Riffa Views gated community, plus Bahraini upper-middle-class families in East and West Riffa, all targeting Russell Group, US Ivy League or GCC universities. A-Level Computer Science is where Riffa students lose marks on paper technique — the in-person specialist pool is thin and weighted toward Manama. Our Riffa A-Level Computer Science tutors are examiners or top-university specialists matched by board (Cambridge 9709/9701/9702/9700 or Edexcel IAL), scheduled in Bahrain time around Ramadan, Mock Week and UCAS/Common App deadlines.
Tell us what your child needs and we'll match a UK-qualified Computer Science specialist in Riffa within 24 hours.
Exam boards we cover
The Cambridge International A-Level route used by St Christopher's School Bahrain (Saar campus) and the British School of Bahrain (Hamala) — the two main commutable A-Level options for Riffa Views and East Riffa families. Linear AS + A2 structure with strong international university recognition.
Used by some Riffa British curriculum schools. Modular structure means students can resit individual units — useful for Riffa students balancing UCAS and US applications.
Smaller uptake, but offered by some schools serving Riffa families repatriating to the UK.

What we fix
How we fix it:Riffa Views International School layers IB Computer Science IA drafts, the Extended Essay supervisor cycle and TOK essay deadlines across Y12 and Y13. We back-plan Computer Science sessions to the RVIS internal IA calendar so drafts land at examiner standard, not first-draft standard.
How we fix it:Inside the Riffa Views gated community, family life runs on golf, club, school-bus and after-school activity timetables. We slot Computer Science sessions into the windows that actually work for RVIS DP students — typically 17:00-21:00 Bahrain time on weekdays, with weekend mornings reserved for past-paper blocks before May exams.
How we fix it:Y11 and Y13 mocks at St Christopher's (Saar campus) and the British School of Bahrain (Hamala) cluster in January-February. Riffa families commuting north hit traffic + revision conflicts; we run a 6-8 week mock-prep block of timed past papers and mark-scheme drills for Computer Science that compresses the commute cost into focused weekly sessions.
How we fix it:Riffa schools shift to shortened ~3-hour Ramadan timetables and the Bahrain International Circuit at Sakhir runs the F1 Grand Prix on a Riffa-adjacent weekend that scrambles family schedules. We re-plot Computer Science sessions around fasting hours, Eid breaks and the F1 weekend so Riffa students keep momentum through both.
Why Combo Tutors
Match by school AND track: Riffa Views International School IB DP HL Computer Science gets an IB-DP-trained examiner who knows the RVIS internal IA timeline and the May session pacing. SL Computer Science gets a tutor who keeps the load balanced across the six-subject Diploma. No generic IB worksheets for RVIS families.
Riffa families commuting to St Christopher's (Saar) or BSB (Hamala) get a Cambridge-aligned Computer Science specialist matched to that school's scheme of work and Mock Week calendar. The brief is to recover the time the commute eats, not add to the homework pile.
Lessons in Bahrain time (AST, GMT+3) scheduled around the Riffa Views family rhythm — golf-club afternoons, school bus times, Ramadan ~3-hour timetable, Eid, Bahrain National Day (16 Dec) and the F1 weekend at Sakhir. Weekly Computer Science progress notes to parents, not generic monthly reports.
Mr Christopher Bennett, Riffa Views
IB DP HL Computer Science - Riffa Views International School (RVIS) - Riffa Views golf community
Our daughter is in IB DP at Riffa Views International School and was strong in Computer Science but losing marks on the IA. Her Combo Tutors tutor walked her through the RVIS internal deadlines and the IB rubric — she finished HL Computer Science at 7 and the IB on 41 points, off to Imperial in September.
Mrs Latifa Al-Khalifa, East Riffa
Cambridge A-Level Computer Science - St Christopher's School Bahrain (Saar campus, commutable)
My son commutes from East Riffa to St Christopher's Saar campus and the Mock Week in January hits hard. His Cambridge A-Level Computer Science tutor compressed the prep into focused weekly sessions — he came out of mocks two grades higher and is now predicted A*.
Hassan A., RVIS Year 13
IB DP HL Computer Science - Riffa Views International School (RVIS) - Riffa Views
I'm in Year 13 at RVIS doing IB DP and the EE plus IA timeline was crushing me through Ramadan and the F1 weekend. My tutor mapped every deadline back to the May exam date and held me to it — final IA mark was top band.

My daughter was struggling with IB Mathematics HL and had almost given up hope of getting a 7. After just two months of weekly sessions with her Combo Tutors tutor, her confidence soared and she went from a predicted 4 to a final grade of 6. The personalised approach made all the difference—her tutor identified exactly where the gaps were and worked through them systematically.

My son started tutoring for A-Level Physics about three months before his exams. His tutor was incredibly patient and broke down complex topics like electromagnetic induction into simple, intuitive steps. He ended up getting an A* which we genuinely didn't think was possible. I'd recommend Combo Tutors to any parent who wants a tutor that actually cares about your child's progress.

We needed help with GCSE Science for my son who found chemistry particularly challenging. His tutor made the sessions engaging and relatable—using real-world examples that finally made reactions and bonding click for him. He improved by two grades and, more importantly, actually enjoys science now.
A-Level Computer Science in Riffa
RVIS is Bahrain's flagship IB continuum school — PYP/MYP/IB Diploma — so A-Level Computer Science at RVIS sits inside the IB DP HL/SL framework (with Cambridge IGCSE as the on-ramp at Y10-Y11). We match RVIS students to an IB-DP-trained Computer Science specialist who knows the RVIS IA cadence and the May exam timeline.
Yes — St Christopher's School Bahrain (Saar campus) is one of our most common Riffa-commuter schools, running both Cambridge IGCSE/A-Level and IB Diploma. We match the A-Level Computer Science tutor to the exact board the student sits, the school's scheme of work, and the January-February Mock Week calendar. British School of Bahrain at Hamala is handled the same way.
For Riffa Views International School A-Level Computer Science DP students, we back-plan from the May exam date through EE submission, IA final, IA draft 2, IA draft 1 and the first research conversation. The tutor reads to the IB Computer Science subject guide rubric — not a generic essay rubric — and sessions are timed around the RVIS internal supervisor cycle.
Yes — both are Riffa-specific calendar events we plan around. Ramadan moves Riffa schools to a shortened ~3-hour timetable, and the F1 Bahrain Grand Prix weekend at the Bahrain International Circuit (Sakhir) scrambles family schedules in March. We re-plot A-Level Computer Science sessions around fasting hours, Eid, Bahrain National Day (16 Dec) and the F1 weekend.
All Combo Tutors lessons for Riffa families — including inside the Riffa Views gated golf community, East Riffa and West Riffa — are online 1-to-1, scheduled in Bahrain time (AST, GMT+3). That means the tutor pool is global (UK examiners, top-university DP specialists) rather than limited to the small in-person market based in Manama.
A-Level Computer Science tutoring for Riffa families starts from BHD 20/hour. RVIS IB DP HL specialism with an examiner-level tutor sits in the BHD 25-30/hour band. First trial lesson free, no minimum-term contract.
