The AP cohort in Nizwa is small and largely self-study: candidates from Nizwa Modern School, Nizwa Private School and the University of Nizwa preparatory community who add College Board AP Computer Science on top of their Cambridge or MoE Oman programme to strengthen US university applications. With Ad Dakhiliyah roughly 150km from Muscat's American-curriculum tutor pool — and almost no in-person College Board specialists inside the interior region — online is the only realistic route to examiner-aware FRQ and MCQ coaching. Our Nizwa AP Computer Science tutors align lessons to the College Board May exam window, the Oman ~3-hour Ramadan timetable, Eid Al-Fitr and Al-Adha, Renaissance Day (23 July) and Oman National Day (18 November), while respecting the conservative Ibadi cultural calendar that shapes Nizwa family life around the Souq, Nizwa Fort heritage events and Jebel Akhdar Green Mountains seasonal travel.

What we fix
How we fix it:Ad Dakhiliyah's ~150km / two-hour gap from Muscat means most examiner-level Computer Science tutors are simply not reachable in person. We match Nizwa students online to Muscat-based and UK / Australia specialists, so the geographic gap disappears in lesson quality.
How we fix it:Inside Nizwa, families choose mostly between Nizwa Modern School's Cambridge stream, Nizwa Private School and PDO School Nizwa — a narrower Computer Science pathway pool than Muscat. We supplement with online specialists who know each school's scheme of work and Cambridge code expectations.
How we fix it:Nizwa Modern School's Cambridge mock window is a major pressure point. We run a 6–8 week structured Computer Science mock-prep block of timed past papers and examiner-report drilling so students walk in calibrated to Cambridge mark-scheme phrasing.
How we fix it:Nizwa schools shift to a roughly three-hour school day during Ramadan, then close for Eid Al-Fitr and later Eid Al-Adha. We back-plan Computer Science content into the pre-Ramadan window and switch to short, high-yield evening sessions during the fast.
How we fix it:Most Nizwa families weigh University of Nizwa (UoN, est. 2004), Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat and a UK Russell Group / Australian Go8 offer. We map Computer Science grade targets to each pathway's real entry requirements so the A-Level / IB / AP choice and grade plan match the destination.
Why Combo Tutors
We match by exact Cambridge code and the specific Nizwa Modern School or Nizwa Private School scheme of work — so Computer Science sessions slot into the bilingual Cambridge stream, mock-week calendar and report cycle the student is actually sitting, not a generic IGCSE template.
Because lessons are online in Oman time, Nizwa families reach the same Muscat-based, UK examiner and University of Nizwa preparatory Computer Science specialists Muscat students use — without the 150km Ad Dakhiliyah-to-capital drive that otherwise rations interior-region access.
Plans are mapped to University of Nizwa, SQU and UK Russell Group entry, with the Oman ~3-hour Ramadan timetable, Eid Al-Fitr and Al-Adha, Renaissance Day and Oman National Day built in — and Computer Science scheduling that respects the conservative Ibadi religious calendar at the heart of Nizwa family life.
Mrs Fatma Al Hinai, parent
AP Computer Science · Nizwa Modern School (Cambridge bilingual) · Ad Dakhiliyah, Nizwa
My daughter sat AP Computer Science at Nizwa Modern School's Cambridge stream. The mock-week prep and examiner-report drilling lifted her two grades before the real paper.
Mr Mohammed Al Riyami, parent
AP Computer Science · Nizwa Private School (Cambridge) · accepted to Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat
Running the family stall at Nizwa Souq, I could not drive my son to Muscat for Computer Science tutors. Online in Oman time around Ramadan changed that.
Dr Salim Al Mahrouqi, University of Nizwa
AP Computer Science · PDO School Nizwa · University of Nizwa preparatory pathway
As a University of Nizwa faculty parent, I wanted examiner-level Computer Science support without the 150km Muscat commute. Combo Tutors delivered exactly that.
Sarah M.
Parent of IB Student · London
My daughter was struggling with IB Mathematics HL and had almost given up hope of getting a 7. After just two months of weekly sessions with her Combo Tutors tutor, her confidence soared and she went from a predicted 4 to a final grade of 6. The personalised approach made all the difference—her tutor identified exactly where the gaps were and worked through them systematically.
James P.
Parent of A-Level Student · Manchester
My son started tutoring for A-Level Physics about three months before his exams. His tutor was incredibly patient and broke down complex topics like electromagnetic induction into simple, intuitive steps. He ended up getting an A* which we genuinely didn't think was possible. I'd recommend Combo Tutors to any parent who wants a tutor that actually cares about your child's progress.
Priya K.
Parent of GCSE Student · Birmingham
We needed help with GCSE Science for my son who found chemistry particularly challenging. His tutor made the sessions engaging and relatable—using real-world examples that finally made reactions and bonding click for him. He improved by two grades and, more importantly, actually enjoys science now.
AP Computer Science in Nizwa
Nizwa Modern School runs an MoE Oman + Cambridge bilingual stream, so its AP Computer Science candidates sit Cambridge code families (e.g. 0580 / 9709-style for Mathematics). Nizwa Private School and PDO School Nizwa are also predominantly Cambridge-aligned. We match by the exact code your child is entered for.
Yes. We support University of Nizwa (UoN) preparatory candidates in AP Computer Science, mapping content to UoN's foundation entry expectations as Oman's first private not-for-profit university (est. 2004) — and alongside that to Sultan Qaboos University foundation, UK Russell Group and Australian Go8 entry requirements where relevant.
All AP Computer Science lessons are online 1-to-1 in Oman time, so the roughly 150km / two-hour drive from Ad Dakhiliyah to Muscat's examiner pool becomes irrelevant. A Nizwa student gets the same Muscat-based or UK specialist a Muscat-based student would, without the commute.
Yes. We plan AP Computer Science sessions around the Oman ~3-hour Ramadan school day, Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha, Renaissance Day (23 July) and Oman National Day (18 November), and we respect the conservative Ibadi cultural calendar that shapes Nizwa family life around the Souq, Nizwa Fort and Jebel Akhdar.
Yes. We align AP Computer Science sessions to the Nizwa Modern School, Nizwa Private School or PDO School Nizwa scheme of work, Cambridge mock-week dates and report cycle, with a short weekly parent summary in Arabic-friendly English.
