Lusail is Qatar's purpose-built smart city north of Doha — 38 square kilometres of Marina District, Fox Hills, Erkyah, Place Vendôme and the Yacht Club Marina that only finished its main residential build-out after the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final at Lusail Iconic Stadium. The city is full of young Qatari executive families and post-tournament European and American expats, but it does not yet have a deep bench of on-site IGCSE schools. In practice, Lusail IGCSE Mathematics students commute 15-30 minutes down the Lusail Expressway to Doha College in Al Waab (Cambridge 0580/0610-series), Doha British School in Ain Khaled, Sherborne Qatar (Cambridge), Park House (Edexcel) or Compass International. That commute eats real revision time — which is exactly why our Lusail families switch to online Mathematics tuition matched by board, school scheme of work and the MoEHE calendar around Ramadan, Eid and Qatar National Day (18 December).
Tell us what your child needs and we'll match a UK-qualified Mathematics specialist in Lusail within 24 hours.
Exam boards we cover
The dominant IGCSE syllabus across Doha College, Doha British School, Sherborne Qatar and Compass International — the schools Lusail families most commonly commute to from Marina District, Fox Hills and Erkyah. Extended tier is required for any student progressing to A-Level Mathematics.
Used by Edexcel-aligned British curriculum schools in and around Lusail. Higher tier broadly comparable to Cambridge Extended, with slightly different question phrasing.
A smaller cohort of Lusail students sit Oxford AQA International GCSE — particularly those moving between UK and Qatar schools mid-cycle.
Syllabus coverage
Our IGCSE Mathematics tutors cover the full specification with extra depth on the topics where Lusail students most consistently lose marks.
Integers, fractions, percentages, surds, indices, standard form and ratio — banked easy marks.
Expanding, factorising, linear and quadratic equations, simultaneous equations and curve sketching.
Straight-line graphs, gradient, midpoint and equations of lines.
2D and 3D shapes, area, volume, circle theorems and Pythagoras — highest-mark Extended theory.
Sine and cosine rules, bearings, angles of elevation and depression.
Column vectors, translations, reflections, rotations and enlargements.
Tree diagrams, Venn diagrams, cumulative frequency, box plots and histograms.
CIE 0580 and Edexcel 4MA1 mark-scheme work — how examiners reward working, layout and final answers.

What we fix
How we fix it:Most Lusail families commute down the Lusail Expressway to Doha College, ASD, Qatar Academy or DBS — 30-60 minutes a day that disappears from Mathematics revision. Online lessons remove the second commute entirely and reclaim that window.
How we fix it:Lusail still has a thin on-site school bench (NHL Stenden, planned GEMS Wellington) so most Mathematics students commute to Al Waab, Ain Khaled, Al Gharrafa or Al Luqta. We match tutors to the actual school's board and scheme of work — not a generic "Lusail" template.
How we fix it:Mocks at Doha College and DBS cluster in January-February; ASD's AP mocks and Qatar Academy's IB mocks hit before the May session. We run an 8-week mock-prep block on Mathematics timed to each school's calendar.
How we fix it:Many Lusail families arrived for or stayed after the 2022 World Cup and rotate between UK, US and GCC curricula. We bridge Mathematics transitions — IGCSE to AP, A-Level to IB, mid-year arrivals — so the gap from the previous system doesn't show up on results day.
How we fix it:Lusail summers push past 45C from June and Ramadan timetables shorten the school day. We back-plan Mathematics sessions around shortened Ramadan hours, Eid travel and indoor summer study from Marina District.
Why Combo Tutors
Lusail's daily 15-30 minute commute to Doha College, ASD or Qatar Academy quietly eats Mathematics revision time. Our online 1-to-1 lessons run from your Marina District, Fox Hills or Erkyah apartment in Qatar time — the second school run never happens.
We match Mathematics tutors to your child's actual campus: Cambridge specialists for Doha College, DBS and Sherborne Qatar; American-curriculum tutors for ASD and ACS Doha; IB DP specialists for Qatar Academy Doha — not a generic "Qatar" tutor.
Many Lusail families arrived around FIFA 2022 and move between UK, US and IB systems. Our Mathematics tutors bridge IGCSE-to-AP, A-Level-to-IB and mid-year curriculum switches so the previous board's gaps don't surface in the May or summer sittings.
Mrs Mariam Al-Kuwari
Parent · IGCSE Mathematics · Doha College (Al Waab) · Lusail Marina District resident
We moved to Fox Hills after the World Cup and my daughter joined Doha College mid-year. The commute from Lusail meant evenings disappeared. Online IGCSE Mathematics lessons gave her back two hours a day — she finished the year on her target grade.
Mr James Patterson
Parent · IGCSE Mathematics · American School of Doha (ASD) · Lusail Erkyah resident
We stayed in Doha after 2022 and put our son into ASD for AP. The drive from Erkyah to Al Gharrafa is brutal in term time. Online IGCSE Mathematics with FRQ drilling around the May exam window was exactly what he needed — and he hit a 5.
Khalid R., Doha College Year 13 (Lusail resident)
Student · IGCSE Mathematics · Qatar Academy Doha · Lusail Place Vendôme area
Qatar Academy's IB load on top of the Lusail-to-Al Luqta commute was punishing. My IGCSE Mathematics tutor structured the IA milestones around Ramadan and Qatar National Day so nothing slipped. HL 7 in the end.

My daughter was struggling with IB Mathematics HL and had almost given up hope of getting a 7. After just two months of weekly sessions with her Combo Tutors tutor, her confidence soared and she went from a predicted 4 to a final grade of 6. The personalised approach made all the difference—her tutor identified exactly where the gaps were and worked through them systematically.

Parent of A-Level Student · Manchester
My son started tutoring for A-Level Physics about three months before his exams. His tutor was incredibly patient and broke down complex topics like electromagnetic induction into simple, intuitive steps. He ended up getting an A* which we genuinely didn't think was possible. I'd recommend Combo Tutors to any parent who wants a tutor that actually cares about your child's progress.

We needed help with GCSE Science for my son who found chemistry particularly challenging. His tutor made the sessions engaging and relatable—using real-world examples that finally made reactions and bonding click for him. He improved by two grades and, more importantly, actually enjoys science now.
IGCSE Mathematics in Lusail
From Marina District, Fox Hills and Erkyah, the established commute schools for IGCSE Mathematics are Doha College in Al Waab (Cambridge, ~25 min), Doha British School in Ain Khaled (Cambridge, ~25 min), Sherborne Qatar and Park House for British curriculum, Qatar Academy Doha in Al Luqta (IB DP, ~30 min), and American School of Doha and ACS Doha for AP/IB (~30 min).
Not at full secondary scale yet. NHL Stenden Qatar runs vocational programmes on-site, GEMS Wellington Qatar is planned, and a Dubai American Academy satellite has been discussed. For now, almost all Lusail families commute to West Bay, Al Waab, Ain Khaled, Al Gharrafa or Education City for IGCSE Mathematics.
Every IGCSE Mathematics lesson is online 1-to-1 in Qatar time, so the daily 15-30 minute commute on the Lusail Expressway only happens once. We schedule around school pickup from Doha College, ASD or Qatar Academy and avoid the late-evening slots when commute fatigue hurts retention.
We follow the MoEHE calendar — shortened Ramadan school days, Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha travel windows, and Qatar National Day on 18 December. IGCSE Mathematics sessions are re-blocked across the term so mock prep and May/summer exam prep stay on track.
Yes — Pearl-Qatar and northern Lusail (Marina District) are a 10-minute bridge apart and we tutor a steady cohort of cross-over families. Most are at Doha College, ACS Doha or Qatar Academy for IGCSE Mathematics and prefer online so the bridge crossing doesn't dictate session times.
IGCSE Mathematics tutoring for Lusail families starts from QAR 220/hour — in line with the Doha College, ASD and Qatar Academy parent market. First trial lesson free, no minimum-term contract.
