Online IGCSE tutors in the UAE: costs, exam boards, and how to choose

The British curriculum is widely used in UAE private schools, and many Year 10 and Year 11 students need more individual attention than a busy classroom can provide.

Tutoring is often needed for a narrow reason: exam technique, one weak topic, or extra one-to-one practice before mocks and final exams.

UAE schools following the British curriculum commonly use Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel or Oxford AQA. The syllabus, grading scale, question style and mark scheme can differ between boards.

This is why the exam board matters more than the subject name. Confirm the exact exam board and subject code before booking a tutor.

Online IGCSE tutoring in the UAE can range from around AED 55 to AED 200 or more per hour. The rate depends on the subject, tutor experience, lesson format and package size.

Use a free trial to check whether the tutor understands your child’s exact exam board before committing to a block of lessons.

A good tutor recommendation should be based on the student’s exact course and current needs, not only on a general subject label.

Early Year 10 can build a foundation before content becomes cumulative. After Year 10 mocks is a useful point to identify topic gaps, while the start of Year 11 gives a full year before May and June exams.

Starting after Year 11 mocks can still help when the work is focused on specific papers, topics and exam technique.

Common areas include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Combined Science, Computer Science, Business Studies, Economics, Accounting, English, French and Arabic.

Maths and sciences often build cumulatively, so an early gap can become harder to repair if it is left unaddressed.

Combo Tutors Academy matches UAE students with one-to-one online IGCSE tutors based on their exact curriculum, exam board and subject. Lessons start from $15 per hour, with a free 30-minute trial available before regular lessons begin.
