IB Economics in Kuwait City is anchored at British School of Kuwait (BSK) Salwa (IB DP alongside Cambridge), with Kuwait American School (KAS) in Mirqab running a selective IB MYP and DP candidate track in parallel with AP. The capital's diplomatic-family demographic — Embassies clustered in the Diplomatic Quarter, rotational postings tied to the National Assembly — produces a distinctive IB Economics profile: students who started the Diploma in Vienna, Geneva or Singapore and finish it in Kuwait City, often mid-IA. HL Economics is the standard track for parents targeting Kuwait University Shuwaikh medicine or engineering as well as international destinations. The IA, TOK and EE framework rewards a tutor who has marked recent sessions and knows how Kuwait City schools schedule mock weeks against the May exam window. Our Kuwait City IB DP Economics tutors are matched by HL/SL track, school and the Asimah Governorate term calendar — including the Ramadan ~3-hour timetable.
Tell us what your child needs and we'll match a UK-qualified Economics specialist in Kuwait City within 24 hours.
Exam boards we cover
HL Economics is the standard route for British School of Kuwait (BSK) Salwa and Kuwait American School (KAS) Mirqab IB DP students targeting top medicine, engineering or quantitative university courses. Heavier content and a more demanding internal assessment.
SL Economics suits Kuwait City Diploma students keeping a balanced six-subject load. Same internal assessment framework, lighter syllabus depth.

What we fix
How we fix it:Families resident in Sharq, Mirqab or Bneid Al-Qar but attending ASK Hawally, BSK Salwa or AIS Salwa often lose 60–90 minutes a day to commute. We schedule Economics sessions late-evening in Kuwait time so they replace, not compound, the school-day load.
How we fix it:The May College Board AP window collides with Kuwait City end-of-year internals. We run a 6–8 week Economics prep block from March of timed FRQs and CollegeBoard-rubric drills aligned to the exact UAS Khaldiya / AIS Salwa / KAS Mirqab / GEMS American Khaldiya schedule.
How we fix it:During Ramadan, Kuwait City schools shorten the day to roughly three hours and pause for Eid Al-Fitr. We back-plan Economics sessions around the Asimah Governorate timetable so revision continues without overloading fasting students.
How we fix it:The Diplomatic Quarter cohort routinely arrives mid-IGCSE, mid-IB IA or mid-AP unit. We run a structured Week 1 diagnostic against the new school's scheme of work (BSK Salwa, KAS Mirqab, UAS Khaldiya) and close Economics gaps before the next assessment.
How we fix it:Kuwait University's main campus in Shuwaikh — College of Engineering, Medicine and Science — admits on grade thresholds that families plan in parallel with UCAS / Common App. We align Economics tutoring to both the Kuwait University admissions cut-off and the international applications calendar.
Why Combo Tutors
We tutor across the full Kuwait City school footprint — UAS Khaldiya, AIS Salwa, KAS Mirqab, GEMS American Academy Khaldiya for AP; BSK Salwa for Cambridge plus IB DP; NES Salmiya for Cambridge — so the Economics tutor is matched to the exact board and scheme of work your child sits.
Kuwait City families often have one child on AP at UAS or KAS and another on Cambridge or IB DP at BSK Salwa. Our Economics bench spans CollegeBoard AP, Cambridge International (IGCSE and IAL) and IB DP HL/SL so siblings share one provider.
We hold sessions for Diplomatic Quarter families through rotational moves, sync Economics progress notes across schools, and prep Kuwait University Shuwaikh main-campus admissions in parallel with US and UK applications — all in Kuwait time (AST, GMT+3).
Mrs Reem Al-Mubarak
IB Economics · Universal American School (UAS) Khaldiya · Kuwait City
Our daughter sat Economics at UAS in Khaldiya. Her Combo Tutors tutor walked her through CollegeBoard FRQ rubrics line by line and kept lessons running through Ramadan. She came out of May with a 5.
Mr Christopher Webb
IB Economics · British School of Kuwait (BSK) Salwa · Kuwait City
We relocated to the Diplomatic Quarter mid-IB and our son had IA gaps in Economics at BSK Salwa. Combo Tutors diagnosed them in week one and rebuilt the HL plan in time for the May session.
Dr Salem Al-Saud
IB Economics · Kuwait American School (KAS) Mirqab · Kuwait City
We wanted Kuwait University Shuwaikh as a parallel option to US applications. The tutor mapped Economics prep to both Kuwait University cut-offs and AP — our son got into KAS's MIT pipeline.

Parent of IB Student · London
My daughter was struggling with IB Mathematics HL and had almost given up hope of getting a 7. After just two months of weekly sessions with her Combo Tutors tutor, her confidence soared and she went from a predicted 4 to a final grade of 6. The personalised approach made all the difference—her tutor identified exactly where the gaps were and worked through them systematically.
James P.
Parent of A-Level Student · Manchester
My son started tutoring for A-Level Physics about three months before his exams. His tutor was incredibly patient and broke down complex topics like electromagnetic induction into simple, intuitive steps. He ended up getting an A* which we genuinely didn't think was possible. I'd recommend Combo Tutors to any parent who wants a tutor that actually cares about your child's progress.
Priya K.
Parent of GCSE Student · Birmingham
We needed help with GCSE Science for my son who found chemistry particularly challenging. His tutor made the sessions engaging and relatable—using real-world examples that finally made reactions and bonding click for him. He improved by two grades and, more importantly, actually enjoys science now.
