Why Sharjah students
A-Level Maths Tutoring Planned Around Your Board
Combo Tutors Academy provides one-to-one online A-Level Maths tutoring for Sharjah sixth-formers. Sharjah's British-curriculum schools split between Cambridge 9709, sat in June and November, and Edexcel International A Level, built from units that can be resat in January, June or October. That choice changes how revision should be planned. Our tutors teach Pure, Mechanics and Statistics to the papers your school enters. This page is part of our online tutoring in Sharjah; our A-Level Maths tutoring guide covers both boards in more depth.

Exam boards we cover
Cambridge 9709 or Edexcel IAL: How the Boards Differ
The code on your child's report or mock paper tells you the board, and the board decides the papers, series and resit options.
Cambridge International AS & A Level Mathematics
9709Six papers: Pure 1, 2 and 3, one Mechanics paper and Probability & Statistics 1 and 2. Applied papers are 1h15 and 50 marks each. Exams run in June and November, so a resit means the next series.
Pearson Edexcel International A Level Mathematics
YMA01The International AS (XMA01) is P1, P2 and one applied unit; the full IAL adds P3, P4 and a second applied unit (M1, M2, S1, S2 or D1 combinations). Every unit is 1h30 and 75 marks, runs in January, June and October, and can be resat individually.

What we fix
Where Sharjah A-Level Maths Students Lose Marks
Planning for the wrong board
A generic May revision plan does not fit either board.
How tutoring helps:A calendar built around your child's real entries and series.
The second-year Pure jump
Integration techniques, vectors, complex numbers and differential equations arrive together.
How tutoring helps:Topic-by-topic mastery before mixed papers.
Mechanics or Statistics
The applied papers suit different students and degree plans, and Mechanics overlaps heavily with A-Level Physics.
How tutoring helps:A tutor who teaches both, so the choice is made on evidence. See also our A-Level Physics tutors in Sharjah.
Proof and "hence" questions
Method marks are lost when steps are not linked.
How tutoring helps:Mark-scheme-led practice on how each step is credited.

Book Free DemoAreas Covered by Our Private A-Level Maths Tutors in Sharjah
Lessons are online, so we match by board and exam entries, not by neighbourhood.
A-Level Maths students join from Muwaileh, University City, Al Yarmook, Al Taawun, Al Nahda, Al Majaz and Al Qasimia. Area names describe where families live; all lessons are live online, with no teaching centre in Sharjah.
GEMS Wesgreen International School (Muwaileh) follows Cambridge for AS and A Level. GEMS Westminster School Sharjah (Muwaileh) and Al Maarifa International Private School (Al Yarmook) also run A Levels, and Al Maarifa lets students choose A Level or AP. For any school, share the code on a recent mock paper and we match to it.
Sharjah private schools teach Monday to Thursday, so Friday-to-Sunday sessions suit full timed papers. Edexcel students sitting January units need revision through December; Cambridge students sitting November need it through October.

A-Level Mathematics in Sharjah
Common Questions.
Both Cambridge and Edexcel are common. GEMS Wesgreen, for example, follows Cambridge for AS and A Level. Your child's mock papers show the board: 9709 for Cambridge, or Edexcel IAL unit papers such as P1 or M1. We match the tutor to that board.
On Edexcel International A Level, yes. Units run in January, June and October (some optional units in January and June only) and can be resat individually. Cambridge 9709 runs June and November, so a resit means the next series.
It depends on the school. Wesgreen runs Cambridge A Levels, while Victoria International School of Sharjah and Australian International School Sharjah run the IB Diploma. Students on the IB route can see our IB Maths tutors in Sharjah.
Mechanics suits students also taking Physics or heading to engineering; Statistics suits economics, business and life-science routes. Many schools set the route for the whole class, so check with the school first.
No. Lessons are online and follow your child's board and school dates. See also our A-Level Maths tutors in Dubai.
Schools set their own entry rules, and most expect Extended or a strong grade. A tutor can close the algebra gap over the summer so your child starts AS ready; our IGCSE Maths tutors in Sharjah can help first.
Further Maths specialists may be available for Cambridge 9231 and Edexcel IAL Further Maths, depending on the student's board and schedule.
Most students use one or two hours a week during the course, rising before mocks and finals. The trial lesson ends with a recommendation based on your child's gaps.
